Bias Knit Blanket Knitting Pattern
Yarn: 2 skeins (121 yds/170 grams) of Bernat Wool Up in Taupe (A) & 2 skeins of Bernat Wool Up in Blue-green (B)
Needles: US 15 (32'' cable needle)
Gauge: 9 sts & 12 rows in 4'' by 4'' Garter stitch
Notions: Stitch Markers
Notes: SlM= Slip marker
Kf&b= increase by knitting into the front and back of the stitch
SSK= Slip1, Slip1, knit 2 slipped sts together
K2tog= Knit 2 sts together
Color changes will happen on RS rows but increases and decreases will happen on WS rows
Instructions:
**While following the below instructions- change colors every 28 rows, ALWAYS ending a WS row before changing colors.
Using Color A cast-on 2 sts, turn and Kf&B into both sts (4sts)Row 2 (RS): Knit all stitches (continue for all right side rows)
Row 3 (WS): K1, PM, Kf&b, Kf&b, PM, K1 (6 sts)
Row 5: K1, SlM, Kf&B, K to 1 st before marker, Kf&b, SlM, K1
Repeat until 60 sts then repeat the next 2 rows for 56 rows (or 2 stripes) ending with a WS row
Row 1 (RS): Knit all sts
Row 2: K1, SlM, SSK, Knit to 1 st before M, Kf&B, SlM, K1
After 56 rows, follow the decrease instructions:
Row 1 (RS) : Knit all sts
Row 2 (WS): K1, SlM, SSK, Knit to 2 sts before M, K2tog, SlM, K1
Repeat these 2 rows until 4 sts remain, turn, knit all sts, turn, k2tog, k2 tog, turn, bind off.
Weave in your ends and lightly steam block. Create 4 large tassels and sew onto each corner. Enjoy your blanket with a crisp evening, a good book and some wine or coffee.
